In Indonesia in general school children wear batik every
Friday. Batik is also often used at wedding receptions, even a well worn by the
bride. Batik is also commonly used for everyday wear, especially among women.
Apparently arguably batik has become a culture among the people of Indonesia.
Then what is batik art?
Under the terms, Batik originated from the word Ba and Tik.
Ba abbreviation of the word Bahan
(material), and Tik is an abbreviation of the word Titik (points). So Batik is fabric is decorated with images of

1. Embroidery Fabrics (Batik Bordir), is a fabric made with yarn embroidery
techniques shape / pattern like batik.
2. Palekat fabric, is made with technical fabrics weaving
machines, with a plaid like batik.
3. Kain Songket, is a fabric made by weaving techniques
using gold thread, batik motifs resembling the local area.
4. Kain Sablon (Printing), is a fabric made with screen
printing techniques (printing) and patterned to resemble batik.
5. ATBM fabric. ATBM stands for Alat Tenun Bukan Mesin (Not
Weaving Machine Tools). ATBM fabric made with staining techniques on the
threads before weaving. These fabrics are often found in areas Pekalongan,
better known as Lurik cloth.
